Araminta and Jamie's Scottish Garden Wedding
Castigliano bride Araminta married husband on the 27th of May 2017 in Aberdeenshire.
The couple first met at a family friend’s wedding in 2013, meeting again a few weeks later at a Scottish reeling ball and have been together ever since.
Jamie proposed during a family holiday on the Isle of Mull on the West Coast of Scotland. Taking his soon to be fiancée on a sunset walk along the beach he proposed with the help of their dog Piccolo. As Araminta was collecting shells, she turned to see Jamie on one knee and Piccolo next to him with the ring box on her collar.
They were married in the bride’s local church; St Mary’s at Blairs, where she was the third generation of Campbells to get married! The wedding reception was held in the garden of the bride’s family home where they had a beautiful stretch marquee with a forest theme.
The bride looked stunning in a bespoke Caroline Castigliano designer wedding gown with a detachable overskirt.
What did you enjoy the most about your Caroline Castigliano experience?
I took quite a while to choose my perfect dress with a lot of shopping around! Caroline Castigliano stood out as they really listened to my ideas and what I wanted, the service was fantastic and the dress was so perfect with individual tweaks to make it just what I wanted. Working in the luxury textile industry, the quality of the fabrics and craftsmanship in making the dress makes such a difference too.
What did you like the most about your dress and what was the reason for choosing it?
I wanted my dress to be timeless in style. I loved the very classic Audrey Hepburn neckline but the extra details made the whole thing perfect and individual. A delicate tulle back was painstakingly stitched with covered buttons running up the middle. I also had an over skirt made which had a train, it was so effortless but in enabled me to transform the dress for the evening to have no train for the Scottish reeling. I also added a smoke blue belt for the evening which picked up the colour in Jamie’s kilt.
The brides favourite moment was realising that all her favourite people were gathered in one place with her and Jamie during the church ceremony followed by the dancing at the end.

Any tips for brides-to-be?
Jamie and I spent a lot of time making extra special detail to personalise our day, from Jamie making the bar to the place names, it really was worth it! Also make sure you take time on the day to be with your new husband, Jamie and I had a very special 20 minutes going for a walk after dinner, it was a really magical time of the day.
The bride would like to thank her parents for enabling her and Jamie to have the wedding at home and for all the work they put in. Her sisters and everyone else who helped on the day – the photographer, film company, florist, caterers and many, many more!
