Lauren & Wills Black Tie Wedding
Lauren and Will married on the 18th of June in the Peak District with the ceremony held at St Annes Church in Baslow followed by the reception at Thornbridge Hall. The bride family home is in the Peak district and Will proposed in the grounds of The Chatsworth Estate so they both felt an affinity to the area.
The bride and groom met through mutual friends three years ago and moved in together after only dating for three months.
Lauren had always wanted an English country wedding but both her and Will knew they didn’t want an English country wedding theme. Luckily the brides mother used to have an events design business and helped them create their dream day with a black tie dress code and silver colour palette. They worked with Kimmy & Co and Mulberry’s Bradley Taylor (who happens to be the brides brothers partner) to create a W&L identity inspired by 1970’s Chanel to create vintage glamour with a modern twist.
The bride looked stunning in the Caroline Castigliano Always designer wedding gown. The bride says “I loved the timeless styling of the front with the modern twist on the back…I heard people in church gasp when they first saw the dress was backless”.
What was your favourite moment of the day?
Dancing out of church to Frank Sinatra’s Come Fly With Me and the joyous realisation we’d done it! We also had a firework display which was a surprise for Will and I so that was just amazing too!
Any tips for brides to be?
On the big day, make sure you take a moment with your husband to take it all in. It goes so fast. Will and I took ourselves to a private terrace in the evening and had a glass of champagne and a dance on our own. It is a moment that will stay with me forever.
