When it comes to a Castigliano gown, every detail is unique – from the luxurious fabrics to the intricate corsetry and undergarment construction techniques that form the foundation of the gown. The foundation is the backbone of the gown and must be precise. It is what gives the dress its movement, drama, and luxury.

To ensure that your gown is the perfect fit and makes you feel your most beautiful self, we invite you to a toile fitting appointment (approximately) six months before your wedding.

But what exactly is a toile? A toile is a template of the finished gown, created specifically to your measurements. This allows us to test and perfect the final cut, ensuring your wedding dress is flawlessly fitted to your body shape.

During your toile fitting appointment, you’ll have the opportunity to see how your final gown will sit against your body. It’s very important to come prepared wearing the exact undergarments and shoes you’ll be wearing on your wedding day, so we can ensure that the gown fits perfectly on your special day.

Keep in mind that the toile is usually made in calico and not made of the final fabric of the gown. The most important thing is to relax and enjoy the experience of having your gown created just for you.

With each appointment, you’ll watch your gown take shape as our expert tailors work to bring your vision to life. From the perfect fabric to fine-tuning the cut and details of the dress, we’ll be with you every step of the way.

As your big day approaches, you’ll be slipping into your gown in its final form as close to the wedding date as possible. It’s important to come prepared by wearing the exact undergarments and shoes you’ll wear (and that you wore at your fittings) on your wedding day, so we can ensure that the gown fits perfectly on your special day.
